New Yards Near Ami Park Start with Bare Dirt and Open Sky

Many homes around E Marble Springs Dr are brand new, built in 2026. That means you won't see many mature trees on your street yet. Most backyards near Ami Park start the same way: fresh sod or bare dirt, and nothing tall.

Your rear patio likely sits in open sun with no cover. Afternoons out back can feel hot and exposed. With no trees between lots, your yard can also feel wide open to the houses next door.

One well-chosen tree can change that as it grows. Over time, it can give you:

- Shade over your patio

- More privacy from nearby yards

- A settled look for a brand-new lot

Most of the trees in our rows are 5 to 10 years old. So you start with a real tree, not a thin sapling.
That gives your new yard a head start on shade.

Smart Tree Picks Fit Small Lots and HOA Rules

Most lots near Ami Park run about 0.2 to 0.28 acres. That leaves room for a tree, but not for every tree. A tree that looks small in our rows can grow wide and tall over the years.

Pick your tree by its full-grown size, not its size today. The right fit keeps roots away from your foundation and fence. It also keeps limbs off your roof and out of your neighbor's yard.

When you visit our tree farm, we'll talk through your soil, your sunlight, and how much space you have. Then we'll point you to a few trees that fit. Bring a rough sketch of your yard with the house and fence lines marked.

Before you buy, check with your HOA. A quick check can save you from moving a tree later. Ask them:

- Do you have an approved tree list?

- Are front-yard rules different from backyard rules?

- Are there limits on where a tree can go?

Measure Your Gate, Truck, and Planting Spot Before You Go

A few minutes with a tape measure can save you a second trip. Our trees come out of the ground with a wrapped root ball, and that adds size and weight. Measure these three things before you leave home:

Gate width: Your tree has to fit through to reach the backyard.

Truck bed or trailer size: Note the length and width, and bring the numbers with you.

Planting spot: Mark where the tree will go, away from the house and fence.

Some homes near Ami Park have room for RV parking. If yours does, a trailer can often back in close to your planting spot. That means less carrying and an easier unload.

If your tree won't fit your truck, we can help you arrange transportation. We can also arrange delivery within the Treasure Valley.

Before you dig, call 811 at least two business days ahead. Your local utility companies will mark their buried lines for free. Lines you own, like sprinkler pipes, may not be marked.

A Strong First Year Keeps North
Nampa Trees Healthy

Your tree's first year in the ground sets it up for the years ahead. The roots need time to grow out into your yard. Steady water and good support help them settle in fast.

Fall is a strong time to plant here. Aim for mid-September through October, before the ground hardens in mid-November. That gives roots a few weeks to grow while the air cools down.

Much of the ground around Nampa is clay with a hard layer below. University of Idaho Extension suggests a hole about twice as wide as the root ball. If the sides look shiny or glazed, rough them up so roots can spread.

Keep these first-year habits in mind:

- Water deeply and often, so the root ball never dries out.

- Stake your tree the first season, because valley wind can tip a young tree.

- Check the stakes and ties now and then, and loosen them as the trunk grows.

Ask us about planting supplies like mulch, soil amendments, and support stakes. For more help, grab our Tree Care Guide when you pick up your tree.
