Owner

NATHAN MELAD

Nathan grew up in Nampa, Idaho, earning a bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from Boise State University. He started Melad Tree Farm LLC in 1992 and prides himself on being a local family business owner with deep roots in the Treasure Valley. Nathan wants to utilize his love for trees to invest back into his community in a meaningful way. He believes that the trees in your landscape hold the power to turn your house into a home. He hopes to give mature trees a place to grow and thrive, creating a legacy wherever they are planted.

Nathan loves Idaho for its diverse climates and ecosystems, allowing all who live here to enjoy a variety of recreational activities all year round. When he isn’t working on the Tree Farm, he can be found hosting and attending local events, tending to his animals, or spending time with his wife.

Shade, Ornamental or Evergreen Trees

Melad Tree Farm in Nampa, Idaho

Growing and selling large trees is a specialty and we absolutely love giving our customers the best! We use special construction drive mats that we lay over lawns, brick patios, etc., to get a big truck into someone’s yard without damaging their landscapes.

Some of our trees are 20+ years old. Our deciduous trees such as the Maple, Honey Locust, and Ornamental trees like the Flowering Pear and Flowering Crab Apple have been growing on our farm for years as well as our Evergreens such as the beautiful Norway and Colorado Spruces.

We have about 6,000 trees and we continue to plant baby trees every year as we look to the future, providing our customers with shade and adding value to their homes to enjoy for years to come.

Our Team

Geoff

Tree Spade Operations

Geoff is the oldest of Nate’s 3 kids and has been a part of the Melad Tree Farm team since 2019. Geoff can usually be found operating the spades used to plant and transplant our beautiful trees for our customers or assisting with the maintenance of the tree farm. He most enjoys “the look on a customer’s face when they see their new trees planted for the first time”.

Joe

Transportation Technician

Joe has been working with Melad Tree Farm since he chose to retire 2 years ago. His talent for operating our equipment is integral to the tree transplanting and planting process. Joe enjoys working with his hands and bringing additional beauty to the Treasure Valley while he’s at it.

Dave

Tree Farm Maintenance & Care

Dave joined Melad Tree Farm in 2023, bringing his love and knowledge of trees along with him. When asked what he most enjoys about working with MTF, Dave says “Establishing trees shows great stewardship and is an excellent way to support the ecosystem.” He moved to Idaho 7 years ago to enjoy the scenic desert and mountain areas our state has to offer.
