Red Maple

Acer rubrum

The Red Maple Tree can easily grow 40-60 feet tall with a round to oval shape. This Maple is extremely cold hardy. It will grow faster than a sugar maple but slower than a silver maple. Red Maples enjoy full sun to part shade. The Red Maple prefers moist, slightly acid conditions and is very cold hardy. The wonderful rich-red leaves in fall make it the ideal choice for that special shade tree for your garden or as a beautiful screen or wind-break on a larger property.
